KEPA ACERO COMENZÓ SU CARRERA PROFESIONAL A LOS 18 AÑOS PROCLAMÁNDOSE CAMPEÓN JUNIOR EUROPEO DE SURF. DURANTE AÑOS SE MANTUVO EN EL TOP 10 DE LOS SURFISTAS PROFESIONALES DE EUROPA. HACE UNOS AÑOS ABANDONÓ LA COMPETICIÓN Y REORIENTÓ SU CARRERA PARA ACOMETER DESAFÍOS VINCULADOS AL SURF, NO SOLO COMO DEPORTE, SINO COMO ARTE Y ESTILO DE VIDA. KEPA DEFIENDE ESTA DISCIPLINA COMO OTRA MANERA DE VER EL MUNDO.
SU DESAFÍO MÁS IMPORTANTE HASTA LA FECHA HA SIDO “5 OLAS, 5 CONTINENTES” QUE CONSISTIÓ EN SURFEAR 5 OLAS DE CLASE MUNDIAL EN UN VIAJE EN SOLITARIO POR LOS CINCO CONTINENTES. UN ITINERARIO QUE SE INICIÓ EN NAMIBIA, SIGUIÓ EN LA ISLA INDONESIA DE PANAITAN, PASANDO POR EL SUROESTE DE AUSTRALIA Y PATAGONIA CHILENA, FINALIZANDO EN MUNDAKA, PAÍS VASCO. MÁS DE 100.000 KM RECORRIDOS Y CINCO MESES DE ILUSIÓN Y AVENTURA, PERO TAMBIÉN DE SOLEDAD, MIEDO, LUCHA Y SUPERACIÓN.
CON SUS PROYECTOS HA UNIDO EL RETO DEPORTIVO CON EL RETO HUMANISTA. LAS OLAS INÉDITAS CON EL RESPETO A OTRAS CULTURAS, LA EXPLORACIÓN CON SU COMPROMISO CON LA CONSERVACIÓN DEL MEDIO AMBIENTE, LA AVENTURA CON LA DIVULGACIÓN.
EN ESTA OCASIÓN  KEPA ACERO SE EMBARCA EN UN VIAJE DE UN MES POR LOS RINCONES MAS REMOTOS DE 4 ISLAS DE INDONESIA, LUGARES NUNCA ANTES SURFEADOS, SOLITARIOS, A KILÓMETROS DE LA CIVILIZACIÓN.
ARRECIFES DE CORAL COMO CUCHILLAS, HORAS DE CARRETERA Y MAR… SON SOLO ALGUNOS DE LOS OBSTÁCULOS QUE EL EXPLORADOR VASCO TUVO QUE SORTEAR PARA CONCLUIR ESTE PROYECTO.

[ Kepa Acero is a renowned surfer who began his professional career at age 18 proclaiming himself European junior champion.
For years he remained in the top 10 of Europe's professional surfers.
A few years ago he left the competition and reoriented his career to overcome surfing challenges, not just as a sport, but as art and lifestyle.
Kepa Acero defends this discipline as another way of seeing the world.
His most important challenge has been "5 Waves, 5 Continents" which consisted on surfing 5 world class waves on a solo trip across the five continents. An itinerary that began in Namibia, followed in the Indonesian island of Panaitan, passing through southwest of Australia and Chilean Patagonia, finishing in Mundaka, Basque Country.
He travelled more than 100,000km in five months full of illusion and adventure, but also of loneliness, fear, struggle and overcoming.
In his projects he combines sport challenges with humanist challenges. The unprecedented waves with respect for other cultures; exploration with his commitment to the conservation of the environment; adventure with his duty of communication.
On this occasion, Kepa Acero embarks on a 1 month-long trip through the remotest places of 4 islands of Indonesia; lonely and never before surfed places, miles away from civilization.
Coral reefs like blades, hours of road and sea... are just some of the obstacles that the Basque explorer had to overcome to conclude this project. ]
